Action: Establishment of a Service Company for the Control, Repair and Maintenance of Electronic Equipment of Fishing Vessels

Code: LA421-0468878

Code MIS: 5198155

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVESTMENT
The company will be active in the fully specialised field of electronic marine equipment. It will be able to serve many types of vessels (passenger, commercial, fishing) but will focus on fishing vessels.
The company will be in a position after the investment to provide a complete package of services related to electronic boat equipment, which will include:
- checking the correct functioning of the electronic equipment
- the maintenance of the equipment
- Operation and maintenance of the electronic equipment, including the repair of the equipment
- The maintenance of the electronic equipment, including the repair and maintenance of the equipment
- The maintenance and repair of the electronic equipment, its installation, its installation, its maintenance, its repair, its maintenance, its installation, its trade.
- Informing fishermen about the electronic equipment they use

The production process and the equipment needs of the business
The production process of an undertaking comprises the following stages depending on the services it is required to provide:

ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT INSPECTION and CONFIRMATION OF OPERATION
At regular intervals, the proper functioning of the vessels' electronic equipment shall be checked and certified.
The needs of the business
In order to offer the above services, the company is required to have a professional means of transport as well as specialised tool and equipment cases, so that it can safely transport the specialised inspection equipment to the port and also safely transport the electronic equipment that needs to be inspected from the port to the laboratory and back.
In addition, it is required to have specialised equipment for the inspection of electronic equipment of vessels. The company should be able to carry out a wide range of inspections on most types of electronic shipboard equipment as described above. As a result, a variety of control equipment is required, which may vary in its operating characteristics (e.g. more than one voltmeter, operating in different volt ranges, is required in order to accurately control the voltage on equipment operating at different voltages), and additional auxiliary equipment, such as computers and special brooms for electronic laboratories, is required for the operation of this equipment and the proper functioning of the laboratory.
It is also required to set up specialised facilities on its premises. In many cases, the control of the electronic equipment requires that it be put into operation and send signals (e.g. alarms). These signals, should they be transmitted freely, will create confusion (rescue missions without being required) and will occupy channels which must be free for emergencies. For this reason, the company will create a special chamber made of plasterboard for radiation protection (anechoic chamber), so that such signals are not emitted freely and are confined only within the chamber.
Finally, it needs equipment for uninstalling and re-installing the equipment it has to transport to its laboratory (e.g. screwdrivers) and equipment for communication with clients.

MAINTENANCE OF ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT
At regular intervals and/or as a result of a need arising from the previous stage, maintenance of the electronic equipment used on board the vessels is required. This concerns the maintenance of the electronic equipment in good condition and mainly includes cleaning and replacement of worn materials such as pastes and insulations.
The needs of the company
In order to provide the above services, the company is required to have special equipment for dismantling and re-installing both the hull and the individual parts of the electronic equipment (e.g. screwdrivers, exoskeletons, throttles, pliers, etc.). It is also required to have special maintenance equipment (e.g. blowers, tweezers, silicone gun and others).

REPAIR OF ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT
When a fault is detected in any of the previous stages, then the electronic equipment needs to be repaired. This process is a very broad field, which requires the design of appropriate technical solutions. In this field, the firm will, from the outset, carry out a certain amount of product research and development (R&D). The entrepreneur's wish is to gradually strengthen the R&D component even further, with the aim of creating new products and improving existing ones.
The needs of the company
In order to provide the above services, the company is required to have special equipment for the repair of electronic equipment (e.g. soldering and desoldering station, cable strippers, drill, drill, etc.). It is also required to have specialised software for designing technical solutions.
In addition, the company is required to have dedicated facilities for both the repair and maintenance of electronic equipment. Electronic equipment is particularly sensitive to moisture and dust. This requires appropriate ventilation of the area and maintenance of the desired temperature and humidity conditions (air conditioning, heating system). Because of the extremely delicate work (handling small circuits and cables) that has to be done, appropriate lighting and specific working surfaces are also required. A fire extinguishing installation is also required as relevant work is carried out that could start a fire. Finally, proper, organized and safe storage of both the company's equipment and equipment to be repaired, as well as spare parts and consumables is required.

INSTALLATION OF EQUIPMENT AND TRADE IN EQUIPMENT
In parallel with the above stages, the stages of installation of new electronic equipment and trade of new equipment are also implemented. For these stages there are no additional needs from the company, but they are covered by the above described steps.

INFORMING THE FISHERIES
The company will also carry out information activities for fishermen in the area. This will complement the company's promotional activities, through which it will provide information on the services it offers and the equipment available on the market to meet the needs of fishermen. Presentations will be made at these information days using the projector supplied by the company, while specialist external partners will also participate remotely using the teleconferencing equipment supplied by the company.

INVESTMENT OBJECTIVES
The aim is that the company will be fully productive after the completion of the investment, as a fully equipped workshop for the inspection, repair and maintenance of electronic equipment for fishing vessels will be created in Samothrace. The services offered will be:
- Checking the correct functioning of the electronic equipment
- Operation and maintenance of the electronic equipment
- Operation and maintenance of the electronic equipment
- The repair and maintenance of the equipment, including the repair and maintenance of the equipment, the installation of the equipment
- Informing fishermen about the electronic equipment they use

INVESTMENT RESULTS
The result of the above expenditure will be the creation of an electronics laboratory, which will provide comprehensive technical support to fishermen in the field of high electronic technology. This workshop will be able to provide its services to fishermen operating throughout the North Continental and North Island Greece, as the distances are relatively short and the vessels can dock at the port of Samothrace and receive the services of the company. At the moment, in order to be served in this sector, fishermen must either transport their vessels to Athens or pay for the transport of the specialised electronic equipment from Athens.
Thus, indirectly through the investment, the port of Samothrace becomes an important support centre for the fishing fleet in the North, North-Eastern Aegean and Thracian Sea.
